Painkillers are one of the hardest drugs to get off of. You can get them from doctors or buy them on the streets, and it gets hard to quit them when you've been taking them for a while. Here are some tips to help you out.

When you first quit you're going to feel really sick. This can be helped if you get a doctor to give you the medication that you need to make the withdrawals not as harsh. Or the person may be unusually irritable or suffering mood swings.

Once the addiction really takes hold, the problem becomes more easy to spot. A person may lose interest in anything other than drinking, and there may be noticeable physical effects such as weight loss or tremors. At this stage, getting professional help is a must.

What drug is not making a comeback? It seem like I'm always reading reports about how some old school drug is finding a new fan base with today's youth. Unfortunately, this is true of PCP, heroin, crack cocaine and LSD. Of all the drugs that are making a comeback, I am not shocked that LSD use is on the rise because many of he designer drugs have similar effects as LSD. Once a person has tried ecstasy and its derivatives, LSD is a bit of a natural progression. I am not a fan of gateway drug theories but it does seem like ecstasy is a natural gateway to stronger drugs like LSD. For the most part, LSD has the same "low risk" reputation, save for bad trips and many teens are attracted to its stronger trip and all the stories of rock stars who went mad on this drug and all the good music that came from that era.

THE DANGER

What they don't realize are all the people who died doing stupid things on this drugs, like people who thought they could fly or the bad trips that have lead people into mental hospitals. LSD is not a harmless drug and a bad trip is not the only negative side effect of this drug. You rarely hear about LSD rehab but it is available. People who become addicted to using LSD have more psychological based addiction markers than a physical addiction to the drug and rehab will help them with their addiction.
